Planning For Your Special Needs Groups

Making Your Group’s Next Visit An Incredible One

Due to the current City and County of San Francisco guidance on group visitation, we are currently unable to process organized group reservations for Alcatraz Island tours until further notice.

However, please submit your group’s information in the form provided and we will contact you as soon as possible if we are able to confirm your reservation request.

You can also visit this page for up-to-date information and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Special Needs groups are defined as a group of 20 people or more with mobility impairments or other special access needs. If you would like to bring a group with special needs to Alcatraz Island, you must request permission in advance.

Please note: Seating on the Island’s accessible S.E.A.T. Tram is limited to 20 passengers, and those seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more detailed information on accessibility on Alcatraz Island, visit the Accessibility page.

Also note that there are no wheelchairs available for loan while on the Island or at Alcatraz Landing.

As dates fill up in advance, please allow as much time as possible for processing your request.

To request permission for your Special Needs Group, please complete the application request form and allow 30 days for review. Once we have received this request, an application form will be sent to you for completion.
