Sail250America’s 250th Anniversary

Norfolk: June 19 – 24

Sail250 is a once-in-a-generation maritime celebration marking America’s 250th anniversary, bringing together the world’s most iconic tall ships, historic sailing vessels, and modern U.S. and international naval ships in a spectacular display of seamanship, history, and pageantry. Sail250 is a living, moving celebration—where centuries of maritime tradition converge in America’s most storied ports through breathtaking Parades of Sail, waterfront festivities, and rare public access to legendary ships.

The fleet itself is the star attraction. Sail250® offers an unmatched lineup of vessels rarely assembled in one place. Guests can expect to see towering, square-rigged tall ships from around the world alongside historic replicas, training ships, and active-duty naval vessels representing both American sea power and global maritime cooperation.

Across all three ports, guests can expect to see:

  • International Tall Ships

City Cruises Welcomes the Spirit of Norfolk

Two years after a fire destroyed our Spirit of Mount Vernon vessel, we now welcome its predecessor, the Spirit of Norfolk. In partnership with USO of Hampton Roads, Visit Norfolk, and other community partners, we are proud to have had military families as the first to sail this new yacht. The 153-foot three-level dining vessel was renamed after the Spirit of Mount Vernon was destroyed in a fire in 2022. Military families enjoyed a free two-hour cruise along the Elizabeth River. The Spirit of Norfolk has been an important part of this Virginia community since 1978. It has proudly served as a place where everyone in the region can celebrate their most important milestones and create memories with close family and friends, and that legacy can now continue once again!

Step aboard the Spirit of Norfolk and enjoy an unforgettable experience filled with delicious dining, lively entertainment, and stunning views along the Elizabeth River.
