London is one of the most exciting cities in the world – and it’s no secret that the city has an incredible nightlife scene. But what nightlife is on offer in London for those of us who prefer something a little more low-key?

Don’t despair – London has loads of amazing music nights for those of us who prefer their jazz smooth, rather than their baseline pumping. Here are five places where you can listen to awesome live jazz music in London.

Ronnie Scott’s

This is probably one of the most popular live jazz bars in London. One of the oldest London jazz clubs, Ronnie Scott’s is known to host some of the biggest names in Jazz. City Cruises Jazz Cruise

Beginners, dabblers, aficionados and anyone looking for a good night out can combine a fantastic cruise of The River Thames with some great jazz music. Chijazz, the resident band, change their playlist to suit the mood of the audience, from subtle, cool, dinner jazz to a hot, swinging, upbeat. It’s an ideal night out where you can get dressed up (code is smart casual), eat great food, and do some dancing – and soak up the romance of a night on the river. The River Thames Jazz Cruise by City Cruises is a great way to hear jazz in London and discover the sights of the city at the same time.

This is one of the best jazz restaurants in London. If you are a fan of jazz and blues and want a taste of old-school glamour, this is the place to be. 606 is a club for anyone who is a jazz enthusiast. The club has been in business for over three decades now and has managed to build a great reputation amongst the jazz community. For those of us who love a bit of variety, and discovering new sounds – this is not just a club for jazz; they also play great soul, R&B, Latin, blues music. Some of the names that have performed in this club include Polly Gibbons, Jason Rebello, Jamie Cullum and Liane Carroll.
