Visitation Levels by Month

The best time of the year to visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island is either before or after June through August as this is the peak period of the year. School groups visit heavily during April, May and June.

During the peak period of the year, heavier visition is expected especially from from Battery Park.

*Please note that visitation will increase on weekends especially during holiday periods.

Visitation Levels Throughout the Day

Visitation levels vary throughout the year depending upon the departure point. The visitation levels out of Liberty State Park are typically lighter throughout the year as we normally experience higher visitation levels from the Battery Park departure point.
