This year marks the fifty-second anniversary of Philadelphia’s first Gay Pride Parade – one of the city’s largest outdoor festivals of the year. An annual inclusive celebration with live performances, food, entertainment, and more – Philly takes Pride seriously and celebrates love in all forms.  

This year’s theme is “Be You,” and commences with a march (vehicle free) departing from 6th and Walnut streets at 10:30am as this year’s organizers, Galaei, take over Center City with a day-long celebration on June 2nd. Mark your calendars as the ceremony gets underway with a record-breaking 400-foot Pride flag. The March ends at the area affectionately known as the “Gayborhood” in Philly’s Midtown Village with a vibrant festival filled with food trucks, artists, vendors, music, and more. Everyone is included and no registration is needed. Come celebrate pride at the Philadelphia Pride March and Festival in the “City of Brotherly Love.” 

Take Pride in Inclusivity, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 

Immediately following the march, get ready for full festivities at 13th and Locust Streets – from noon to 7pm. With over 200 attractions lining the streets,lgbtq+ group of people holding pride flag everyone is sure to have a great time. There will be multiple stages featuring live entertainment, delicious Philly favorites to munch on (looking at you cheesesteaks), artists, and health organizations will be available – all in a family-friendly environment. There will even be a Sober Space offering a dry bar alongside DJs and performances.  

This annual event draws thousands of visitors to the city and expects over 25,000 at this year’s march and festival. There will be events throughout the city beginning May 31st. Saturday, June 1st, Bos Philly Presents “Opulence” at the Fillmore. Philly’s leading gay circuit party promoter hosts a special Philly Pride Circuit Party featuring international guest DJs, theme nights, sexy gogos, and surprise performances at some of the city’s biggest party venues.  

Another cool event you may want to check out is Pride Night at the Philadelphia Zoo (date and time TBD) where you can bring blankets and/or chairs and sing and dance along with City Love during the first Rock N Roar concert of the season on Impala Lawn. Celebrate being your authentic self at the Philly Pride 365 “BE YOU” Pageant – an empowering event where everyone is welcome to shine with a fun-filled night of competition for the crown. LGBTQ+ and “Be You” at the 2024 Philadelphia Pride March 

When Philly does something, it does it loudly and proudly, and Pride Month along with all of it’s celebrations is no exception. Each year Pride Month allows us to reflect on the struggles and accomplishments within the community and beyond. It also offers a chance for us to celebrate, and there’s no better city to do just that in than Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With historic attractions, award-winning restaurants, and the beauty of the Delaware River Waterfront, Philly is an ideal location to celebrate Pride Month.  

Philadelphia welcomes the annual Pride March, and the city is proud of the role that it has played and continues to play in the advancement and celebration of the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement.
