Enjoy Earth Day 2022 and Celebrate Everything Mother Earth Has to Offer

Since 1970 on April 22nd, we have been celebrating Earth Day. This day is how we began to shine a light on environmental issues and educating the public about them. Earth Day has become an important way to discuss how to remedy the problems we’ve caused to our planet.

How Earth Day Started

It was Sen. Gaylord Nelson from Wisconsin who wanted to do something about all the environmental deterioration he saw all around him. After an oil spill in Santa Barbara, Calif., he took a stand and put together a teach-in on college campuses that he announced to national media. What became known as Earth Day took a foothold across the country, eventually along with 20 million Americans who took part in the streets and parks and auditoriums to help effect great change.

Earth Day 1970 achieved a rare political alignment, enlisting support from Republicans and Democrats, rich and poor, urban dwellers and farmers, business and labor leaders.”

In 1990, Earth Day went global, and today more than 1 billion people take part to stand up for a clean environment for all. And all over the world there are ways to celebrate this holiday by getting involved and planting trees, providing education, picking up trash, and so much more.

Let Us All Respect Our Planet

While water transportation historically has not been in line with environmental practices, City Experiences is well aware of the challenges in our industry. We have been making impactful changes as we head into the future with our Respect Our Planet initiative. We are committed to environmental stewardship and working diligently to diminish the impact we have on the environment. And, in doing so, it is our goal to raise awareness in our industry as well as our community.

As we continue to be a sustainable company, we promote environmental stewardship. We have adopted the following goals into our mission:

  1. Become greener.
  2. Educate people to reduce their environmental impact.
  3. Motivate others to take action.
  4. Partner with leading organizations so that people make environmentally friendly purchasing decisions.

If we all come together to make these changes for our planet and our environment, we’ll all be better for it in the long run.
