Our Santa Experience takes place on one of our spacious boats, but if the river’s flow exceeds its usual level, there may be a chance that the boat cannot sail. In the event of this happening, the Santa Experience will still go ahead (since we are sure Santa will find his way aboard!), and you can still expect a memorable and enjoyable time. Should your cruise not set sail, we will provide you with a complimentary voucher for a sightseeing cruise, which you can use in the near future.

Unfortunately, the boat used for the Santa Experience has steps both at the boarding point and on the boat itself, which makes it difficult for wheelchair access. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Regrettably, pushchairs or prams are not permitted on board this experience. You may store them in our archway at the entrance through the main gates, or alternatively, you can bring a child’s car seat on board.

The boarding location for the Santa Experience is at the archway within the boatyard gates situated at Lendal Bridge (YO1 7DP).

Please note that only Guide/Hearing Dogs are permitted on our Dining Cruises and Santa Experience.

The Santa Experience is a special 1-hour festive event that takes you on a journey along the River Ouse, while enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas.

Tijdens de Santa Experience word je ondergedompeld in een vrolijke kerstsfeer met prachtige kerstversieringen en live entertainment, zoals vrolijke kerstliedjes en muziek.

The Santa Experience lasts approximately 1 hour, making it the perfect way to get into the festive spirit in York.

A bar is available where you can buy beverages, light refreshments and snacks.

To ensure your comfort during the cruise, we suggest wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. It is also advisable to bring along a light jacket or sweater in case of cooler temperatures. If you’re feeling festive why not wear a festive hat and jumper!

The Santa Cruise Experience has been tailored for children, ensuring that every child receives a gift from Santa Claus.

While visiting York, there are numerous attractions to discover in the vicinity, including the iconic York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, and the National Railway Museum. Moreover, you can leisurely walk along the renowned city walls or explore the charming shops and cafes located in the Shambles.

Regrettably, our Lendal Bridge landing does not provide wheelchair accessibility, as there are concrete steps that need to be climbed before boarding the vessel. Additionally, both the upper and lower decks require ascending a series of steps.

Carer tickets are currently not available for our Santa Experience or dining cruises. Passengers requiring assistance on these cruises will be charged the regular adult fare.

A City Experiences digital gift card can be purchased anytime and is valid on all City Experiences, City Cruises, Walks, and Devour Tours experiences that take place in the US and in the UK. Gift cards can be used to pre-purchase experiences and upgrades online or through our contact center but cannot be redeemed for on-board/in-experience purchases.
