The trained naturalists on board every one of City Cruises Whale Watching Cruise are there to enhance the educational experience of our guests. These “Whalers” as we fondly call them are recruited and trained by the San Diego Natural History Museum and are onboard to interact with our guests while we spot the whales and dolphins and to answer questions and share in the excitement of whale watching and cruising in beautiful San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Ken Shelby is one of precious “Whalers” on the City Cruises Whale Watching cruise. Mr. Shelby educates, interacts and counts whales, dolphins, seals and sea lions for our whale report. Ken is also very skilled in photography and since he is out whale watching frequently, has captured many  gray behaviors and breaches. Attached are pictures taken by Ken while out on our San Diego Whale Watching Cruises these past weeks.
