Our Santa Experience takes place on one of our spacious boats, but if the river’s flow exceeds its usual level, there may be a chance that the boat cannot sail. In the event of this happening, the Santa Experience will still go ahead (since we are sure Santa will find his way aboard!), and you can still expect a memorable and enjoyable time. Should your cruise not set sail, we will provide you with a complimentary voucher for a sightseeing cruise, which you can use in the near future.

Unfortunately, the boat used for the Santa Experience has steps both at the boarding point and on the boat itself, which makes it difficult for wheelchair access. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Regrettably, pushchairs or prams are not permitted on board this experience. You may store them in our archway at the entrance through the main gates, or alternatively, you can bring a child’s car seat on board.

The boarding location for the Santa Experience is at the archway within the boatyard gates situated at Lendal Bridge (YO1 7DP).

Please note that only Guide/Hearing Dogs are permitted on our Dining Cruises and Santa Experience.

The Santa Experience is a special 1-hour festive event that takes you on a journey along the River Ouse, while enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas.

The Santa Experience lasts approximately 1 hour, making it the perfect way to get into the festive spirit in York.

A bar is available where you can buy beverages, light refreshments and snacks.

To ensure your comfort during the cruise, we suggest wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. It is also advisable to bring along a light jacket or sweater in case of cooler temperatures. If you’re feeling festive why not wear a festive hat and jumper!

The Santa Cruise Experience has been tailored for children, ensuring that every child receives a gift from Santa Claus.
