Full Choice of Dining and Sightseeing Experiences on the Patapsco River Available from July 3

Baltimore, June 29, 2020 – Following the resumption of sightseeing tours earlier this month, Hornblower Cruises and Events is restarting its Baltimore dining operation from Friday, July 3, offering a selection of dining cruise experiences from Baltimore Harbor to coincide with those looking to celebrate Independence Day on the water.

With guest spaces spread over several levels, the company’s Baltimore vessels offer expansive decks inside and out, providing plentiful space and fresh air. There is more than enough room on board for everyone to stay safely apart.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer an expanded range of on-water experiences from Baltimore harbor,” said Hornblower General Manager for Baltimore Chad Barth. “It’s been truly rewarding to welcome our Guests back on board – and what better way to rediscover our city than from the spacious deck of one of our cruise vessels!”

Dining Cruise Experiences Resuming July 3
Boasting one of the city’s largest outdoor roof decks, a cruise aboard the Spirit of Baltimore combines delicious cuisine with ever-changing 360-degree vistas of Baltimore’s harbor, shoreline and the cityscape. Guests can expect freshly prepared multi-course menus complemented by a sophisticated selection of award-winning wines, craft beers and specialty cocktails. To reflect current requirements, some of the usual elements like dancing and walk-up bar service won’t be permitted, though there will be a DJ / musician playing music for guests to enjoy while at their tables. Dining cruise prices from *$56.90 (lunch), *$74.90 (dinner).

For those looking to set sail this Fourth of July holiday weekend, a choice of special Lunch and Dinner experiences will operate Friday through Sunday. This exclusive experience is the perfect venue for social gatherings celebrating the holiday while soaking up the Baltimore skyline. Prices start at *$56.90 (lunch), *$84.90 (dinner).

Sightseeing, Happy Hour and Nightfall Cruises
Having resumed several weeks ago, Sightseeing, Happy Hour and Nightfall cruises operate weekends, departing up to five times a day. More sailings will be added, subject to demand.

On the one-hour Sightseeing cruise along the Patapsco River, guests can expect unparalleled views of the city alongside an engaging narration about Baltimore’s rich past as the vessel follows a leisurely route towards Fort McHenry. The Happy Hour cruise (5:30-7:00pm) and the Nightfall cruise (8:30-10pm) is a fun alternative for small social gatherings while listening to great tunes and soaking up the bright lights of the city as you sail around the Inner Harbor. Price includes a complimentary beer, wine or juice in the ticket price.

Prices start at *$20.95 for the Sightseeing cruise, *$28.95 for the Happy Hour cruise, *$37.90 for the Nightfall cruise. A full bar service offering range of refreshments and light bites will also be available for purchase on board. To reflect current requirements, guests will be served at their table.

To provide reassurance in the current pandemic environment, Hornblower has expanded its industry defining SafeCruise by Hornblower program, building on already stringent sanitation processes, to incorporate further health-driven measures to guard against the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Mandatory daily crew member health screening, and wearing of appropriate PPE
  • Revising boarding and ticketing procedures to allow for social distancing and touchless entry
  • Requiring guests to wear face masks while cruising, except while eating and drinking
  • Reducing the number of guests on board, and adapting all seating and table spacing to allow for a minimum 6-foot distance between guests while they cruise
  • Implementing enhanced sanitation and disinfection procedures, with hand sanitizing stations available throughout

Cruises depart from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. For private groups, Hornblower also operates a choice of luxurious and bespoke charter experiences.
