City Cruises is thrilled to support a new installation at the Tower of London, Beyond the Deepening Shadow: The Tower Remembers which commemorates the centenary of the end of the First World War.
The installation will fill the moat with thousands of individual flames and as a ritual, it will unfold each evening over the course of four hours, between 17:00 and 21:00, terminating with the Tower moat completely illuminated by the flames.
The spectacle will be accompanied by a sound installation which will explore the shifting tide of political alliances, friendship, love and loss during the war. At the centre of the sound installation there will be a choral work, with words from War Poet Mary Borden’s Sonnets to a Soldier.
For those who wish to admire the unfolding art installation from a different perspective, City Cruises will pass the Iconic Tower of London, as well as running an extended schedule from and to Tower Pier where you could get off and explore the area.
The installation is free from Tower Hill but special ticketed access for the moat are also available, so why don’t head there with one of our sightseeing cruises?
Or even better, if you want to have an entire boat to yourself, sail along the Thames and watch the unfolding art installation for as long as you want while sipping a glass of wine, take a look at out private hire packages here.
