This media release was shared December 5th, 2017 about Hornblower Niagara Cruises 2017 Season – Record-Breaking Year.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Monday, December 4th, 2017 (Niagara Falls, Ontario) – Hornblower Niagara Cruises can now add a whopping 2,361,000 visitors to their growing list of record-breaking numbers for 2017. As the only boat tour that operates in Niagara Falls, Canada, Hornblower Niagara Cruises isn’t new to setting records. In 2016 Hornblower set a record 2.2 million guests, the most in a single season in the 170-year history of the Niagara Falls boat tour. In 2016 they also established a record for the longest boat tour season – opening April 1 and operating through November 30 adding a full 6-8 weeks to the traditional local tourist season.
Hornblower attributes much of their continued success to their robust integrated marketing strategy along with their unrivaled engagement and investment with local stakeholders, Destination Canada, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation, the Tourism Partnership of Niagara and Niagara Falls Tourism.
“This was a remarkable year for us”, said Mory DiMaurizio, General Manager, Hornblower Niagara Cruises. “we continue to invest and align with marketing partners at a national, provincial, regional and local level to market Niagara Falls as Canada’s premier leisure destination and Hornblower’s unique products and services as iconic visitor experiences” to audiences across Canada and around the world.

On November 30, Hornblower’s 2017 operating season ended but the company hasn’t stopped there as construction continues on a much-anticipated brand new Funicular Incline Railway. Opening in the spring of 2018 Hornblower’s  Funicular Incline Railway will provide visitors with unobstructed panoramic views of the Niagara Gorge, American Falls and the mighty Canadian Horseshoe Falls as they descend to Hornblower’s Lower Landing area. Two glass-enclosed railway trams, each carrying 56 passengers will significantly increase Hornblower’s capacity to transport visitors to their famous Boat Tours and Cruises. In 2017, Hornblower already completed a major upgrade and modernization of its four elevators seriously reducing wait times and long lines.
“We look forward to the 2018 tourist season and establishing yet more exciting records,” says General Manager, Mory DiMaurizio.
