Valentine’s Day is the international day for romance. For some, it’s a Hallmark holiday that sadly is seen as an obligation. Fortunately, for others, it’s an opportunity to show appreciation for the person they love.

It doesn’t have to be a grand romantic gesture, although that can’t hurt if that’s what will woo your significant other. The real key to an amazing Valentine’s Day is making your partner feel valued, and to listen. Getting something small that shows you listen is always a winner.

2. You don’t have to celebrate on Valentine’s Day

Actual Valentine’s Day, February 14, is becoming infamous as the day to avoid going out for a meal. We have some great suggestions for what you can do on the weekend instead!
