9:30 Osservazione delle balene e avvistamento dei delfini:

Common Dolphins
Sea Lions

The boat left the harbor and we drove towards the opening of the harbor. We were met by a few sea lions and headed out to the water off the coast looking for gray whales migrating past San Diego on their way to the lagoons in Baja Mexico. We saw a small pod of common dolphins that were mostly young.

We followed the dolphins a bit and then left them and headed off in search of whales. About later we found another small pod of dolphins. They were common dolphins with a matriarch and several babies.

It is always great to see the babies right beside their moms. It seems the gray whales hadn’t been in our area today. We headed back into the harbor stopping by the bait docks to see the sea lions and birds. Everyone on board enjoyed the trip and had a great time on the ocean.

Patricia

9:30 Osservazione delle balene e avvistamento dei delfini:

Balene grigie
Delfini comuni
Leoni marini

It was a beautiful day on the water. We came across a small pod of dolphins early in the trip. The Captain then headed about 4 miles out from Point Loma peninsula before heading north towards Mission Beach. Near Mission Beach we encountered two gray whales heading east towards land. We followed them for a while before heading back to the dock. On the way to the dock we came across another small pod of dolphins, sea lions, and birds feeding on a bait ball.
