What happens when you take one of Canada’s iconic tourist destinations and the country’s most popular sport and combine them together? That’s what happened on a hot Summer’s day in August when Hornblower Niagara Cruises welcomed for the first time recently retired Montreal Canadien’s Defenseman, Mike Weaver and his beautiful wife, Rhianna for a boat ride to the Falls. The couple visited the attraction as part of filming for North America’s newest and most popular reality television show, Hockey Wives. Airing on the W Network the reality show showcases 11 successful women, their NHL hockey player husbands and their busy lives raising families and travelling for the love of the game.

Mike and Rhianna along with the 8 crew members, a representative from Tourism Partnership of Niagara and Hornblower Niagara Cruises marketing employee boarded the boats with high hopes for filming in the powerful mist. During the filming aboard the boat the two chatted about what better than his career, their family and how amazing the boat ride and seeing the Falls up close. Among their conversation and selfies the couple tried so hard to keep dry but the beast of the waterfall couldn’t keep them, the cameras nor the crew dry. After experiencing #InTheMist Mike stopped to sign a big fan’s autograph and a few pictures from Canadian fans themselves.
