This is due to the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival Of Lights who illuminate, sparkle and simply dazzle the entire city in colour. With all this colour and power for the three month festival the city has been gaining attention across the globe, making it Canada’s foremost illumination festival and also making it a highly visited tourist destination during the Winter months as well.

BRIGHT LIGHTS

Travelling to the city of bright lights, visitors will find 5 kilometers radiating and breathtaking lights starting at the Niagara Parks Dufferin Islands and across the tourism districts including a spot at the Hornblower Group Check In booth (IMAGE OF TREE SETTING UP) Other top sites for lights will be the Skylon Tower, Fallsview District Crosswalk and of course the Falls themselves will illuminate in colour starting November 21st and ending January 31st, 2016. Follow the route http://www.wfol.com/the-lights/ Over the past several years the Ontario Power Generation has made an effort to only use LED technology as a new lighting initiative as well as to convert the Festival’s incandescent illuminations.  

 

OPENING CEREMONIES

With every great festival there is always a memorable and colourful opening ceremony. On Saturday, November 21st at Niagara Parks Queen Victoria Park attendees will get full panoramic views as they view the stage-in-the-round located in the middle of Queen Victoria Park. Two show times will be held at 6pm and 7pm. Stunning and jaw-dropping performance by CHROMATIQUE will immerse audiences with vibrant colours and sights and sounds.

FALLS Fireworks CRUISE IS BACK FOR NOV. 21ST AND NOV.27TH

To kick off the opening ceremonies, the Fallsview Casino Resort presents a stunning Fireworks display every Friday night during the Festival season beginning at 9PM. SPIRIT OF NIAGARA LIGHT AND SOUND SHOW

The Spirit of Niagara Light and Sound Show presented by the Fallsview Casino & Resort and Tourism Partnership of Niagara will showcase a journey of Niagara through music, spectacular lighting and image projections. Through the advancement of technology the show will display Niagara’s arts, entertainment and culture. The show is FREE and is 15-minutes and can best be watched facing the Oaks Hotels located on 6546 Fallsview Blvd. The light and sound show will operate every evening, four times for 15 minutes each from November 21st until January 31st, 2016. The show begins at 8pm and 9pm starting November 21st, 2015.

THE LASER LIGHT SHOW

SHINE YOUR HOUSE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND

Each year the festival invites homes across Niagara to join in the illumination excitement by decorating their homes in tiny sparkling lights. NIAGARA MISTY KIDS ARE BACK!

The annual festival isn’t just about the lights, the festival has also introduced the Misty Kids who travel across Niagara to visit young children to encourage children and their families to visit the lights on the weekends and over the holiday break. Last year, we welcomed the furry friends aboard our boat for a family-fun filled daytime boat tour.
