Some of the world’s best athletes will compete in the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games held in Toronto, Ontario Canada beginning July 10, 2015.

With 128 days until the Games begin, TO2015 announced the torch relay route that includes Niagara Falls, Canada along with Welland, St. Catharines and Port Dalhousie on Saturday, June 20, 2015. The Pan Am flame will make its way through more than 130 Ontario communities and five communities outside of Ontario including Richmond, BC, Calgary, AB, Winnipeg, MB, Montreal, QC and Halifax, NS.

The Pan Am flame will be lit during a traditional Aztec ceremony at the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan, Mexico before making its way to Toronto. The flame will then travel to Thunder Bay on May 31where it will visit the Terry Fox monument. The torch relay will also visit smaller communities such as White River and Bruce Mines. The Pan Am flame will also visit five national historical sites including Fort Henry in Kingston and the Halifax Citadel.

Through the course of its 41-day journey, the torch relay will also visit six Canadian Forces Bases, a national and provincial park as well as five First Nations communities including the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, the official Host First Nations of the Games. The torch will also take part in Canada Day festivities on Parliament Hill in our nation’s capital, Ottawa, on July 1, 2015.

The torch will see more than 60 modes of transportation while touring through Canada. The torch relay will conclude in Toronto, on July 10, 2015 when the cauldron is lit at the Opening Ceremony signaling the official start to the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games. TO2015 is bringing the relay to Canadian communities with the help of presenting partners President’s Choice and OLG, community partner CIBC and signature supporters Ontario Trillium Foundation, Porter Airlines and Star Media Group/Metroland Media.

Further details about the street level routes will be confirmed in May.
