This Wednesday, the Waterfront Alliance is hosting the final in its Deep Dive series of lectures and workshops.

This final installment is titled, Hey, That’s My Boat! Realizing the potential of Citywide Ferry Service. Lively discussion about the new Citywide Ferry Service is guaranteed. Hornblower’s Vice President and General manager will be participating in the evening, along with Lisa Cowan from the Red Hook Initiative and James Wong from the NYC Economic Development Corporation.

The panel will be moderated by Inna Gruzenfeld, Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, planning & Preservation.

The discussion will cover areas including what tools are available to the city, Hornblower — as the service operator — and the communities the ferry will service, to create the the best rider experience and promote the transportation opportunity to the wider community and potential riders.

The aim of the session is to discuss ways to bring together advocates of the Ferry service, so they can share their ideas in order to ensure the Citywide Ferry is the best possible experience for riders and achieves its full potential as a transportation service.

Their goal is to promote and realize New York and New Jersey waterways that reflect the vitality and diversity of these great cities. The Waterfront Alliance does this through a number of initiatives and events including the Waterfront Conference and discussions such as the Deep Dive series, as well as providing advocacy and education about New York’s waterways.
