Grey Whales

We had an amazing day with our local migrating grey whales! We saw a total of 6 individuals including one juvenile. We saw one of them breach several times. Our trip ended with a beautiful rainbow and a sighting of the bottlenose dolphin in the bay.

Baleias cinzentas
Golfinhos comuns
Leões-marinhos

Today was an epic day on the water with great visibility and calm seas. We started encountering adult Gray Whales about a mile past the last channel marker. We were able to stay on 4 different whales. These whales were close to the surface, spouting frequently and fluking several times . Throughout the day, we also saw 4 other adult Gray Whales in the distance. Two were a pair, staying next to each other as they surfaced and spouted frequently. We ended the day in a nursery pod of common dolphins estimated to be 400 in number. We also spotted a few sea lions in open water.

It was a sunny calm day at sea. We saw several pods of common dolphin and stayed with a juvenile humpback whale for half an hour watching it swim and fluke. We even saw sea lions swimming and rafting together. Guests were engaging and it was a successful and enjoyable whale-watching trip.

2.2.25

9h30 Observação de baleias e golfinhos:

The day started off clear and sunny but we soon became surrounded by heavy fog. After we cleared the fog still no signs of whales or dolphins until we were headed back and found one solitary adult gray whale. We only got a few glimpses at the whale and saw 2 flukes. It changed direction and it was time to return to port.
